Man Dies at Wheel After Heart Attack in La Plata

Buenos Aires, December 17 (NA) – A 63-year-old man died after suffering a heart attack while driving, lost control of the vehicle, and crashed into Plaza Moreno, at the intersection of 14 and 51, in the city of La Plata. According to police sources from the First Precise reported to the Argentine News Agency, officers from the Patrol Command were alerted about a car that had been involved in an accident and ended up in the green space. Upon arrival, they confirmed it was a gray Peugeot 208, license plate AC419YT. The driver was identified as Juan Martín Lilli, who, according to initial reports, suffered a cardiac decompensation, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle. During his journey, the vehicle nearly hit an employee of a fast-food establishment, who miraculously survived, according to witnesses. Minutes later, an ambulance from the SAME service arrived. Paramedics assisted the driver at the scene and rushed him to the San Martín Hospital, where health personnel confirmed his death. Despite the severity of the incident, no injuries to other people or damage to third parties were recorded. Traffic in the area was temporarily affected while assistance and expert assessments were carried out. The case has been judicialized as “investigation of the causes of death” and is being handled by the La Plata Prosecutor's Office No. 2.
